A year ago today…

Updated: Mar 20, 2023

I can't believe we're coming up on the one year anniversary of the official start to the renovation project. While the official start to the project wasn't until April 1, my unofficial start to the project began a year ago today. While browsing old videos and photos on my phone I found this video- showing me shutting down our old pump station, for the last time. And just a few days later a crane was here, hauling it away!

From October 1, 2021-March 20, 2022 our irrigator made made roughly 350 irrigation repairs! From October 1, 2022- March 20, 2023 our irrigator has made roughly 8 irrigation repairs. So as far as I'm concerned March 20th should be recognized as an official Terravita holiday!

We do not yet have enough data to support a percentage of water savings, due to the new system, only because the sample size is just too small. But this time next year I look forward to sharing our findings. I'm confidant that both our savings in water usage and labor for irrigation repairs will be significantly reduced!

So, happy March 20th everyone! May we never forget how far we've come!
