Course Update

As we embrace the warmer weather, we’re excited to see the rapid improvement in overall color (and growth) we’re seeing across the course—from the fairways to the tees to the rough! The rough has really obviously taken off, and we are working hard to get it back under control.

We’ll be temporarily extending our work hours in the afternoons a few days each week. This will allow us to keep a rough mower on the course from sun up to sun down during quieter times, so we can work efficiently and stay ahead of the growth. Attached, you’ll find a photo showing the difference in rough height between last Friday and today. You’ll be amazed at how quickly it’s growing in just three days!

Additionally, to stay on top of this and ensure consistency across the course, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be replacing our current rough mower with a slightly larger and much faster model for next season. This upgrade will help us maintain better mowing frequencies and keep the course looking its best year-round.

This week, we’re also focusing on turf edge cleanup. We’ll be removing rye grass from desert areas along turf edges, both chemically and manually.

Lastly, a quick update on Hole # 1: This morning, we experienced a hydraulic leak during mowing. Despite the early start, our operator caught the issue quickly and was able to rectify it before any significant damage occurred. It’s nothing to worry about, and the area will heal over the coming days and weeks.

Coulda fooled me! Played Tuesday afternoon and the rough was as deep as it’s been all year.
