Happy Monday! Here’s a look at what’s been happening around the course and a bit of the “why” behind the work we do.
Desert Cleanup & Edging: Priority in Action
We operate off two rolling priority lists when it comes to desert cleanup and edging. Because these tasks take a significant amount of time to cycle through, the areas at the top of each list get more frequent attention than those further down. Think of it like painting the Golden Gate Bridge; once we finish, we go right back to the start.
Desert Cleanup Priority List:
Tees (including driving range tees)
Walk-ups to greens (including practice greens)
Desert islands (between cart path and turf, or tees and start of fairway, with emphasis on sight lines)
Desert on the cart path side of the hole
Landing areas on the non-cart path side
Non-cart path side deserts and range floor perimeter
Edging Priority List:
Cart paths
Bunkers
Tees
Practice facilities
Desert island edges
Start of fairways
Walk-ups to greens
Where We’re At Now:
Desert Cleanup: We’ve completed all tee landscaping and are now focusing on green walk-ups and desert islands.
Edging: Bunkers are edged (though nearly due again!), and we’ve started edging around tees. We expect that portion to wrap up late this week or early next.
Greens Update
We’re nearly fully recovered from aerification, with just a few isolated spots still filling in. Today, we double verticut and topdressed the greens. Despite all the recent disruption, the greens are rolling true and smooth; our GS3 ball roll data is actually showing better averages than we saw back in June!
Rough Recovery
The rough continues to recover at a steady pace. We’re walking a fine line between applying enough water to encourage lateral growth, while still maintaining firm, fast playing conditions. Through careful station adjustments, targeted hand watering, and soil amendments, we’re inching closer to the right balance every day.

That was a great summary of what has been accomplished. Thanks.
